Election Day in the US. "Vote early, vote often." I believe the late Richard Daly, Mayor of Chicago in the 1960s, may have said that.
It's a gorgeous day in Syracuse so no excuse for not voting.
Often painting is a lot like writing a poem. One word suggests another. One color or line suggests another. You have the evolution of this one. I thought I would have darkening sky, headlands, voe (the little sketch). When I sketched it on the panel it suggested a rocky beach, rip-rap in the foreground. As I painted, maybe a sand beach and rocks in the foreground. But the far shore told me sm=omething else. It was high water on a quiet day on the voe.
Brushes: Paper towel to wipe out mistakes. Used in the voe and far headlands.
Lukas 6 Flat. Princeton Aspen 6 Angle Bright; 2 Bright. Utrecht 8 or 10 Flat--so old it is semi-filbert. But a great brush. Rosemary 8 Series 278 Long Filbert. Because these panels are SO slick, softer brushes work better for pasting the paint.
